Workbook: Illustration

April 29th, 2008 · No Comments

I’m at Tiff’s cute apartment in the East Village wasting time before class.  I just spent the past hour looking at the Illustration workbook cover to cover which includes logo, lettering, graphic design, and illustration.  For those of you who don’t know, Workbook is a hugee book filled with pages paid for by illustrators, designers, and art reps “advertisements” and is distributed to over 15,000 advertising agencies, design studios, magazines, publishing companies, and corporate brands… basically a way of promoting yourself to potential employers and especially helpful for freelance designers/illustrators to land jobs.

A few personal favorites from the book are Brooklyn-based illustrator, Grady McFerrin, Tomer Hanuka who I remember from a recent issue of Juxtapoz mag,  AIGA featured illustrator; Adam McCauley, French fashion illustrator Marguerite Sauvage, DebutArt’s Patrick Morgan, and my absolute favorite of them all; Dustin Summers and Jason Kernevich, or The Heads of State.   Check them out.
