I adopted the vegan lifestyle for 40 days during lent. So for me it was a commitment to stay faithful in that decision. I was sacrificing, however, I found that my body felt better. I was not bloated, went to the bathroom regularly, and my skin was clear. I am going back to the lifestyle for those benefits now. There are so many things that you can still have even though you give up everything from animals. They have so many resources out there online for anyone who wants to do this. I think it is a great idea, oh and it didn't suck that I lost 20lbs in 40 days. =) I encourage anyone who can do it.

im positive that oprah didn't mean to make the lifestyle look hard to average people. if the average person can come to the obvious conclusion and discern that Oprah can use a private chef because that is what Oprah is used to then there shouldn't be any problem. if there is a problem even after racking their lay persons brain for hours on end, then maybe they should stick to apple sauce and crackers anyway because these foods are not only easy to prepare but are also easy to buy and eat.

I remember Oprah and Gail going on their road trip and going through an area where livestock were corralled and complaining only about how terrible it smelled. They did not think they were going though an area that is basically an animal holocaust in the making.
