Kathryn Proulx is a multidisciplinary designer living in Fairfield, Connecticut. Currently my time is split between living and working in Connecticut and finishing my thesis work in Communication Design at Parsons School of Design in Manhattan.
Prior to now, I have been the design assistant at W Magazine, an award-winning fashion magazine published by Conde Nast, and the in-house designer and project manager for Art-Space, New Haven's premier contemporary art gallery.
Faux-beau.com is my avenue to share what I'm working on now, what inspires me, and to share my experience and advice to students who are interested in attending Parsons or art school in general.

Parsons Illustration Pop-Up Shop

December 5th, 2008 · No Comments

Yesterday Parsons’ illustration department set up shop in the lobby of 2 West 13th Street. The mission? Sell wrapping paper, prints, cards, wallets, and other great holiday gifts to fund this year’s senior show. Our illustration department has educated such notable alumni as Keren Richter and AJ Fosik and their senior showcase is always awesome. Luckily it was a rare occasion where I actually had cash in my pocket so I picked up these 2 great items:

Noel Claro hell bank notes

A set of 3 $10,000 Hell Bank Notes by illustration faculty Noel Claro and senior Ana Mouyis. Picked these up for a friend who asked for a wad of cash for his birthday.

Sohpia Chang Poketo Illustration

Limited edition Poketo x Parsons Illustration wallet by junior Sophia Chang (she has a blog, too!)

PS: Get your own! Poketo does a lot of artist collaborations, they have wallets, apparel, prints, and stationery for sale on their website.
