Kathryn Proulx is a multidisciplinary designer living in Fairfield, Connecticut. Currently my time is split between living and working in Connecticut and finishing my thesis work in Communication Design at Parsons School of Design in Manhattan.
Prior to now, I have been the design assistant at W Magazine, an award-winning fashion magazine published by Conde Nast, and the in-house designer and project manager for Art-Space, New Haven's premier contemporary art gallery.
Faux-beau.com is my avenue to share what I'm working on now, what inspires me, and to share my experience and advice to students who are interested in attending Parsons or art school in general.

mytop82It’s about that time to start think about places that I would be psyched to work for.  I love web-design (and a similar post on the topic should be coming shortly), too—but today is about magazines.  After my internship last fall at W Magazine, I realized I’d love to be in the art or online department of any of these glossies; Preen – for their design and photography with a hint of psychedelics, i-D for their articles and history, V Magazine for being a magazine that knows how to translate to web, Interview – especially with M/M Paris at the helm (their website is great, too), W for the art director/group design director/everything, Bust for the perspective, Russh for the layout and photography (and location!), or Good Magazine for their design, website, overarching principals, and basically everything.
