2008 MLB All Star Game Commercial

July 6th, 2008 · 1 Comment

As I’ve previously posted, I date a Yankees fanatic and baseball trivia nerd, so it comes as no surprise that I spend many a night watching the games on DV-R after a couple episodes of CSI. Tonight, I wasn’t so lucky. We are watching the game real-time right now, including all the commercials and the commercial for the this years All-Star Game (keep in mind the last all star game at the real Yankees stadium before it’s torn down to make way for parking) caught my eye.

Er, well -my ear. I love Silversun Pickups; and missed seeing them only by my own disorganization (that’s another story) so when I heard the familiar opening chords of “Lazy Eye” I couldn’t help but look up from my colander full of berries and actually be engaged in a commercial for once. “Rewind that!” I will go so far to say that this is my favorite commercial for baseball ever. The concept of the iconic stadium fence weaving all around the city is great, the effects rule, not to mention the soundtrack; totally gives off a summertime baseball vibe!

I think this is an appropriate time to mention I was psyched when Nate’s dad name-dropped Joba in Gossip Girl. Go yanks!

    Hi Kate,

It was nice to meet you & Jazzi the other day- once I clicked into your blog from Jazzi’s site, I realized that I’ve been following it for a few months in my Google Reader, just didn’t connect the dots till now! Small world.
